Leader of the corporative law and capital market practices at the Firm.
Corporate wise, he has advised important national and international clients on aspects related to the incorporation, management and administration of corporations in Colombia, including: foreign investment, corporate restructurings, M&As, conflicts between/among partners, and dissolution and winding-up of companies.
He is also especially knowledgeable in capital markets, with a specific focus on compliance with the securities market regulation and corporate governance matters for listed companies in Colombian Stock Exchange as well as in the New York Stock Exchange, in compliance with Colombian laws, international principles, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, SEC rules y NYSE/NASDAQ rules.
His expertise in this area, including knowledge of corporate law, has allowed him to successfully advise important Colombian private equity funds in structuring and closing private equity (venture capital - growth capital) transactions.
He has built a very diverse and unique professional experience as in-house counsel at the Legal Vice-presidency of Bancolombia, acting as corporate secretary general of Banca de Inversión Bancolombia (The investment bank of Bancolombia Group); Corporate legal director at Grupo Orbis (biggest chemical group in Colombia), and senior lawyer at an important local law firm.
