Over the course of her professional career, Juanita has represented local and foreign investors in issues related to their investments in private equity funds. She has also advised such funds in their formation, the fundraising process, as well as in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of private equity transactions, including their investments, migrations to other jurisdictions, and divestments of their assets.
Juanita has also advised domestic and foreign clients in the formation of vehicles to carry out businesses in Colombia, corporate governance matters, conflicts of interest management, M&A transactions, as well as winding up and liquidation of corporations.
Before joining Correa Merino Abogados, Juanita worked as In-House legal counsel at Prebel S.A. advising the company in corporate law matters and negotiation of commercial contracts, as well as legal management of their intellectual property assets.
Received the Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar during her LL.M. at Columbia Law School as a recognition of her superior academic achievement.
Exempted from taking the graduation requirement exams in EAFIT due to academic merit and her score on the Saber Pro test.
